Two Tails first vintage was 2004, and has evolved to being a supple, terroir inspired wine that has earned respect from restaurateurs’ for its affinity with a diverse choice of cuisine.
The name Two Tails has a personal origin. The native birds, called Fantails, captivated winemaker Sarah Inkersell and her husband Russell one warm and sunny afternoon with their aerobic gorging of a mayfly hatch at a local stream.
The following day Sarah commissioned local artist, Nicolas Dillon, to capture the image of this spirited & engaging couple. Several months later, the painting was a surprise gift to Russell. It holds prominence in their home and is known as the painting of Two Tails, it is this painting that serves as the inspiration for the Two Tails wine label.
